In 2008, with no prior martial arts experience, Louis started training in Ryukyu Kobudo Tesshinkan with William Chung Sensei at the Dunbar Community Centre. |
Quickly enchanted by the complexity and multifaceted depths of the art, Louis continued to pursue the process of learning it during the ensuing years. |
During the summer of 2011, he followed Chung Sensei in joining the Ryukyu Kobudo Shimbukan system and applied himself to grasp the subtleties of this new style. |
On August 4th, 2017, Louis Belleville was awarded the rank of Nidan by Akamine Hiroshi Sensei, the Kaicho for Ryukyu Kobudo Shimbukan. |

Since then, Louis has carried on training in Kobudo, and continued to strive to improve himself and his technique. |
