Garson Ho

Garson began his martial arts training with Shotokan Karate in 1992, and has since dabbled in other arts and styles, including Kung Fu, Aikido, Arnis and Shorinji Kempo. He has always had an interest in learning to use weapons to compliment his empty hand training, but found it difficult to devote sufficient time to practice both Karate and weapons.

In 2004 he found the perfect balance with Sensei William Chung, who teaches both Seito Shito Ryu Karate-do and Ryukyu Kobudo. Since then, Garson has been training diligently in both styles, leading to him earning his Shodan in 2006 in the Tesshinkan system of Kobudo under Soke Hidemi Tamayose, the founder of Ryukyu Kobudo Tesshinkan.

In 2011, Sensei William Chung decided to expand his knowledge of Kobudo and joined the Ryukyu Kobudo Shimbukan, headed by, Soke Hiroshi Akamine.

On August 4th, 2017, Garson Ho was awarded the rank of Sandan by Akamine Hiroshi Sensei, the Kaicho for Ryukyu Kobudo Shimbukan.

Sensei Garson is part of the instructional team and brings with him a wealth of knowledge to his students in both Karate and Kobudo.
