Jamie Chan

Jamie Chan began her training in Shito Ryu Karate in 2004 at the age of seven under Sensei Tony Kim at the Cambie dojo in Richmond, BC.

She has competed in a range of tournaments and has earned a several medals.

Jamie is also a regular student at the Cambie dojo and the Sea Island dojo.

In 2011, Jamie earned her Shodan (1st Degree Black Belt) from the International Shihan Kai, which consists of the Japanese Executive council, the American Shihan Kai, & the Canadian Shihan Kai in Vancouver, BC.

Here are some of Jamie's recent tournament accomplishments:

• 2008 - BCIT provincials- Burnaby, BC

              o Silver Medal: Kata (10-11 yrs Intermediate Girls)

• 2010 - Richmond Zone 4 Playoffs - Richmond, BC

              o Silver Medal: Kumite (13-14 yrs Advanced Girls)

• 2011 - BCIT Provincials - Burnaby, BC

              o Silver Medal: Kumite ( 12-15 yrs Advanced Girls)

• 2011 - 8th Seito Shito Ryu Karate-do International Taikai - Vancouver, BC

              o Gold Medal: Girls Advanced Kumite (Ages 12-15)
              o Silver Medal: Girls Advanced Kata (Ages 12-15)

• 2013 - 9th Seito Shito Ryu Karate-do International Taikai - Osaka, Japan

              o Bronze Medal: Age 17-18 Black Belt Women's Kata
              o Bronze Medal: Age 17-18 Black Belt Women's Kumite
