In 2004, Sora started her Karate-do training with Shihan William Chung at the age of 6 yrs in Richmond, BC at the Sea Island Community Centre.
Throughout her training, Sora has participated in several karate tournaments, earning several medals. In 2011, Sora earned her Shodan (1st Degree Black Belt) from the International Shihan Kai, which consists of the Japanese Executive council, the American Shihan Kai, & the Canadian Shihan Kai in Vancouver, BC. Sora has also begun her education and has taken part as a tournament official and looks forward to many more experiences. Here are some of Sora's recent tournament accomplishments: • 2009 - West Coast Goju-kai Invitaional Tournament - Coquitlam, BC o Bronze (Girls Kata) o Bronze (Girls Kumite) o Certificate (Girls 8-10 yrs - "Most Pushups") • 2011 - 8th Seito Shito Ryu Karate-do International Taikai - Vancouver, BC o Silver (Girls Kata) o Bronze (Girls Kumite) • 2011 - Steveston Invitational Karate Championships - Richmond, BC o Bronze (Girls Kata) o Bronze (Girls Kumite) |
