David Yacht

David Yacht began his Karate training in the year of 2000 at The Arbutus Club under Sensei William and Alice Chung with Shito Ryu Seiko Kai. As he moved up through the belt ranks, David competed and won several medals at all of the local Karate and Open Martial Arts tournaments.

In 2003, David began training in Ryukyu Kobudo Tesshinkan (weapons training) with William Chung. In 2005, he visited Okinawa to train with Sensei Hidemi Tamayose, the founder of "Ryukyu Kobudo Tesshinkan".

In 2004, David began training with William and Alice at the Sea Island Community Centre in Richmond as well, training within the Seito Shito Ryu International Karate-do Kai.

In 2005, at the 5th International Shito Ryu Karate-do Cup in Osaka, Japan, David won the Gold Medal in Kumite and a Bronze Medal in Kata within the adult (Kyu) level.

David received his Nidan (2nd Degree Black Belt) awarded by the International Shihan Kai, consisting of the Japanese Executive Council, the American Shihan-kai, and the Canadian Shihan-kai in July 2007.
